DELIVERY TIMES
Whilst we keep a selection of popular Scitsu Tachometers in stock, tachometers to suit less popular applications and "Powered by Battery on Bike" types may have to be "made to order". Also, during the peak racing season, delays can occur.

Manufacture times for non stock tachometers is usually 5 - 10 working days, but during peak times, the manufacture time can extend to 20 working days.
It is exceptionally unusual for orders to be delayd by motre than 20 working days..
Please allow enough time to ensure your tachometer arrives within your desired time frame.

ABOUT WASTED SPARKS
Scitsu tachometers are of the inductive pick up design, which means that they pick up the electrical emitted signal from the HT lead/s that are within range. Therefore they register how many sparks per revolution are being emitted. A wasted spark is a spark that occurs after the main spark but in the same revolutionary cycle. For example a fourstroke single fitted with an electronic ignition system that runs at crankshaft speed will have a wasted spark at the top of the exhaust stroke. Also a four stroke twin with an electronic ignition system running at camshaft speed but with two pickups firing a twin lead coil or both coils simultaneously will have a wasted spark.

Scitsu Racing !Tachometers are accurate and sensitive instruments. They require your ignition system and engine to be in good order. If the Tachometer gives a different reading to what you expected it is likely that your ignition system is faulty or worn. For example Magnetos must be in good mechanical condition with a good condition slip ring. A worn slip ring can generate a second spark that will be counted by the Scitsu tachometer.

All the Tachometers in this web shop are either the Standard Self Powered Rechargeable type with internal Ni-Cad battery or the B1 Powered by Battery on Bike (or PP3 battery pack) model.

The viewable diameter of the clock glass is 70mm.
The accuracy of the Scitsu Tachometers is guaranteed to be + - 1.5%. This means at a true engine speed of 9,000 rev/min the Scitsu Tachometer could show between 8,865 and 9,135 rev/min.
All Scitsu tachometers have black bodies and a black face with white numbers and a white needle.
The colours blue, red, white and yellow mentioned, refers only to the identification code.
It is not possible to have a back light with Scitsu Tachometers.

Each Scitsu Tachometer is supplied with:
1) Mounting Bracket and Fasteners.
2) Operating and Fitting Instructions.
3) Special Charging Leads.

Typiclly suitable for British parallel twins fitted with Lucas or BTH (and new BTH) magnetos. No wasted spark.
Not suitable for appications that have magnetos with electronic conversions, that have wasted sparks.

Due to technical reasons, this tachometer is only available in the standard self powered, rechargeble Ni Cad battery type.
